This Man’s Jeans

A Poem

By Tshepo Masemola

There was this man I used to sleep with,
When I was unemployed,
When I was 23,
When I was size 28 and he was 32,
It rained one night when we were together,
Ruined my pants,
He borrowed me his and they were several sizes too large,
Wore them home and never saw him again,
This morning I am employed,
This morning I am 30,
This morning none of my pants fit so I put his on,
They felt too tight around my thighs.
