Rosary for Queerness

A Poem

By Abuoya Eruot

let’s bow
for men dwelling in a city of constant abuses
pray against devils inscribing hate
on skins of men with flames
for saying i love you to their kinds.

let’s tightened together our eyelids
for rejected men on their way to a symmetry
in search of a lost serenity
for bodies of black smokes
unfurling into a sky full of quietude
for being whole & just to their bodies.

let’s pray for queer men
who left earth to view things from the window
of a silent world
pray for fruits
rejected by their bearers
for kissing fellow men to sleep.
